Abstract
The formation of organometallic compounds using heat and light is described, including organo-arsenic (7440382) compounds, organo-zinc (7440666) compounds, organo-tin (7440315) compounds, organo-antimony (7440360) compounds, and organo-mercury (7439976) compounds. The gases that are produced by these reactions are analyzed by eudiometry. Stannous-ethyl, zinc-methyl, mercury-methyl and other such compounds are cited as analogous to cacodyl since they combine directly with the electronegative metalloids, with formation of salts.
