Abstract
HEEP COPYRIGHT: BIOL ABS. As in drinking water, even if present in minute quantities, can produce specific endemic intoxication. Because of its sulfur capturing characteristics, As affects all enzymes containing sulfhydryl groups, hence its most obvious effects are on the nails, hair and skin, though the higher organs are also affected. As containing underground waters have, since 1913, been known to be present in central Argentine. The As content is of volcanic origin.
