Abstract
HEEP COPYRIGHT: BIOL ABS. A case of As poisoning in a 22 mo. old girl as the result of eating As-containing (18) colored chalk was reported to emphasize the potential danger of common objects when left within reach of young children. The child was treated with 640 mg of British anti-Lewisite (40 injections) over a period of 3 days until signs of erythema on the abdomen and neck caused stoppage of treatment. A check-up 2 mo. later revealed only traces of As in the urine but higher than normal levels of the agent in the hair and nails.
