Abstract
The study deals with the trends in contamination of three selected items of the food chain with organochlorine insecticides. In spite of banning of HCB, DDT, and Lindane in agriculture in 1976, these contaminants are still present in the food chain in detectable quantities. The highest levels of compounds under study were found in mother milk. As for polychlorinated biphenyls, regarding their extensive industrial use in the eighties it is very difficult to give any prognosis on their content in the food chain and especially in mother milk. A capillary gas chromatography with 63Ni electron capture detection was used for analysis for all compounds under study. The capillary column was a HP PONA.
