HEEP COPYRIGHT: BIOL ABS. The livers of cod caught in the inner parts of the Gdansk Bay were analyzed for residues of HCB (hexachlorobenzene),BHC isomers, SIGMADDT and PCB (polychlorinated biphenyl) predominant pollutants and levels found in large cod (61-98 cm in body length) in some cases were as high as those found in the wet livers of cod from the waters of the archipelago of Gothenburg. Significant positive linear correlations were found between the residue (HCB, SIGMADDT and PCB) concentrations in livers and the bo length of cod, and between the lipid content in livers and the body length of cod.
