Abstract
Since the end of the 1960's samples of biota have been collected annually in various parts of Sweden and analyzed for presence of DDT and PCB substances. During this period various steps have been taken by governments to reduce the environmental burden of pollutants. How fast have the Baltic environment and the Swedish fresh waters reacted? Trend monitoring is one way to get a time perspective on environmental pollution.
